For our client we are looking for:
The Lead Detail Production Scheduler
The Lead Detail Production Scheduler role is expanded from the Detail Production Scheduler role with the added responsibility for system and work process training and coaching.
KEY RESPONSONSIBILITIES:
Area 1: Decide what to make and when, by monitoring finished goods inventories and scheduled production, to demand.
Depending on the current business strategy, the employee will use forecast and/or actual demand compared to inventory and the production schedule to determine production requirements.
Area 2: Continually monitor open orders, fluctuations in demand and production/quality issues that will impact the production schedule.
Exception orders will be seen via SAP, other reporting tools or via a notification from Customer Service or the Replenishment Schedulers. Follow up by modifying the production schedule as needed and communicate changes to the manufacturing organization. Also notify and work with the Material Scheduler to ensure there are enough raw materials to run the new schedule and not adversely effect the remaining schedule and customer requirements.
Area3: Routinely inventory to manage and track statuses as ‘Slow moving’, ‘Quality blocked’, Shelf life’ and others at the production sites. Follow up with others in the organization to identify solutions and disposition on inventories.
Work with Sales/Marketing, Manufacturing, Plant Quality personnel and the Supply Chain planner to create a plan to sell off, rework or recertify material.
Area 4: Proactively communicate with order entry contact, Supply Chain Planner and Marketing, regarding issues with product availability when service level will be affected (i.e. order will not ship on time).
Follow the Process to notify the order entry contact of the problem and the earliest possible ship date (if known). If a late shipment is not possible and/or acceptable to the customer, work with the Supply Chain Planner as well as other resources to develop contingencies which will meet the customers’ needs.
Area5: Facilitate regular production scheduling meetings with manufacturing personnel and other schedulers, integrated with the production site to ensure all parties are on the same page and working towards the same goals.
Schedule meetings in accordance to the frequency of the regular preparation and publishing of the production schedule to:
- Review schedule and scheduling rules,
- Ensure raw materials inventories are ample to run schedule,
- Logistics/transportation constraints,
- Maintenance/repair/downtime requirements,
-Discuss any disposition of off spec material produced since last meeting and other plant issues.
Area6: Provide systems- and work process coaching for all schedulers in the BPSC. This includes facilitation of training classes for new hires as well as periodical refresher trainings.
Spend time on the floor answering questions and providing one on one work process- and system coaching/training for all scheduling roles within Supply Chain. Also act as an instructor for SAP and other systems and work process training classes for new schedulers on boarded as well as re-training for current schedulers.
TECHNICAL EXPERTISE
Education/experience: MBO 3/4 degree in a discipline demonstrating logical thinking or computational skills.
0-10 years experience (Supply Chain preferred)
Technical competencies:
Strong English written and oral communication kills.
Strong customer service skills.
APICS CPIM knowledge or certifications are a plus.
Advanced knowledge of Excel.
ERP/SAP experience
