The Client Service Representative (CSR)


The purpose of the job or role & why it exists:
The Client Service Representative (CSR) serves as the direct interface between the Purchasing Specialists / Commercial Purchasing, internal clients, the Procurement work process, the transactional systems, procurement strategies and the suppliers.

Primary Responsibilities:
The primary responsibilities are:
Lead team adherence to the work process and supply strategies
Guide and assist internal partners. Be the knowledgeable focal point for supplier and internal partner transactional procurement issues (Helpline)
Identify, analyze and resolve supply and transactional procurement issues (purchasing and payables). Involve Commercial / Implementation Purchasing, Procurement Service Center Process Leaders (PL), suppliers and internal partners when required
Contribute to work process improvements. Coordinate business rule / operating procedure changes
Mentor and lead the day-to-day procurement activities for the team (purchasing and payables)
Monitor daily work load and staffing levels
Investigate work process non-compliance, determining root cause and recommending corrective action
Participate in Six-Sigma projects as a process SME
Be aware of new procurement methods and knowledgeable on where to direct internal partners for detailed subject specific information
Be responsible for training and training material updates
Select supplier from SSG or AMSL, issue order, verify DOA to commit (if priced)
Follow AMSL or supply plan

Critical Success Factors:
Efficient and accurate data entry
Possess an understanding of the overall process, the business rules and the operating discipline.
Team player to help with the overall workload
Place orders using preferred suppliers and/or preferred method of purchase
Timely process of Priority 1 (critical orders)
Proficient in SAP purchasing transactions and PSMS procurement system.
Good understanding of the overall procurement work process, procedures and business rules.
Good understanding of the requirements for ISO/QS9000 certification for the Dow businesses.
Good working knowledge of raw materials & packaging specification qualifying process and systems (GPDIS, GPS, etc).
Excellent communication skills in both oral and written forms.
Excellent customer service skills.
Good team player and troubleshooter.
Ability to work with diverse, cross-functional team members, business partners and suppliers.
Be able to work under pressure and take independent action


Education/Certification Experience Requirements Knowledge

Preferably working knowledge of purchasing systems, accounting systems. Excellent computer skills are critical.

Europe:

MBO level diploma and related experience preferred
Good command of English is required
Additionally, reasonable proficiency in one or more other European languages is preferred
